This dagger belong to General Theodorus K. Kolocotronis (1770-18743) Commander in chief of the Greek Revolutionary Army of Liberation (1820-1833). It was included in the auction of the estate of Rear Admiral James H. Foskeet U.S.N. The dagger had been presented to Rear Admiral Foskett U.S.N. in Athens Greece on September 17, 1948 by the Great great great grandson Commander Jasson J. Theofanidis R.H.N. who was a descendant of General Kolocotronis. General Kolocotronis was the father of modern Greek democracy. This dagger measures 13 inches long and is mounted on a back board that was made from the deck planking of the USS Augusta.
